Kazumi Japanese & Culture School Reviews

I enrolled in a Japanese language course after failing self-study for months. What impressed me the most was how seamlessly our instructor welded grammar and culture. Our trainer made the session fun with real-life examples from anime, business emails and everyday conversation. The speaking and listening drills made me more confident than I’ve ever been. Now I can have basic chats with my Japanese work clients, and they appreciate it. This class didn’t just teach me a language, but it opened up a cultural door I didn’t even realise that I needed. Truly a warm, enriching experience.

Studying for the JFT by myself was overwhelming until I heard about Kazumi Japanese & Culture School! Their JFT preparation course is specifically tailored to the format of the exam—with reading patterns, grammar types, and structured mock tests. Our instructor took the time to go over all of the tricky points and gave good memory aids that really stuck. Each session felt purposeful. The stress and anxiety were gone by the time I had to take exams. I passed with a good score. This class didn’t just get me ready for the test but also gave me an amazing introduction to Japanese that laid a strong foundation for future study.

When my company opened an office in Tokyo, I realised I required business Japanese. Kazumi’s Japanese for Work was just what I wanted. We learnt how to write business emails, what to say on the phone when someone answers or is unavailable on a call, and what type of phrases we could use during meetings, and I also learnt how you can use language in order to move around in a hierarchy that was extremely foreign to me. Our teacher had actual corporate experience in Japan, so his examples were practical. This course has given me an advantage at work that a general language class never could.

I have been obsessed with Japanese history and literature for years, and I finally decided to sign up for the master’s in Japanese course with Kazumi not too long ago. I was blown away by the depth of the programme – linguistics, phonology, classical texts, work with translations and modern cultural studies. Our teachers taught us to argue, discuss and interpret instead of rote learning facts. For homework, I even translated my first short story into Japanese. This programme has totally changed my way of seeing languages and cultures. It is intense but incredibly rewarding for someone who dreams of an academic or translation career.

I am an HR manager attached to a Japanese partner firm. So, I was supposed to understand the philosophy of work there and not solely the language. Our trainer introduced us to Kaizen, Nemawashi, and Ringiseido, and the subtle nuances of communication that guide decision-making within Japanese companies. Our instructor had two decades of background in cross-cultural management, and these were all things that rang true to our experiences in the workplace. This Japanese Management Course completely changed the way I approached Japanese clients and led to smoother, more respectful negotiations.

“It all started with a hobby.” I simply love anime and games. But Kazumi transformed that casual hobby into a genuine language ability. Our instructor taught us in this way by incorporating conversations from shows, gaming terms and good real-life examples into all of our lessons. Little by little, my hiragana scribbles grew into full-fledged sentences. The speaking club on Sundays helped me get over my shyness. I can now watch episodes without subtitles and even chat with Japanese gamers online.” It feels like a new world in an old passion. Not only was this class fun to take.

As someone involved in hospitality, I am always meeting Japanese tourists and find it hard to communicate politely. Kazumi’s Japanese for Work course was a game-changer. The trainer covered just about every hotel situation: check-in, guest questions, language for problem-solving and professional keigo. Role-plays helped me rehearse until it felt natural. My guests are finally noticing, and my boss told me customer feedback had increased. It’s not often one comes across such focused, industry-friendly training. I’m grateful I chose Kazumi.

I’m a linguistics researcher, and so I wanted something that would be structured and academically strong in Japanese. Master’s course of Kazumi was better than what I had imagined. We were given the anthropological key to Japanese society, high-level grammar classes, structural semantics, the theory of translation, and literature. It was special because of the faculty members; everyone was extremely knowledgeable. They promoted independent research and writing and presentation building. In the end, I had finished a thesis on language influence in Japanese media — something I never thought I would have been able to attempt. This class opened up new possibilities in my higher education and added to my confidence as a scholar.

I had to qualify for the JFT exam for a hospitality job in Japan, but self-study was too tough. At the Kazumi School, it organised everything with its JFT Exam Preparation Course. My trainer knew what the examiners looked for and guided me accordingly. We did practice tests, speaking drills, and vocabulary lists specific to the exam. It was so close to the feedback that I started improving my weaknesses within weeks! I passed JFT; I didn’t believe it was actually possible. This course was how I found the confidence to take steps forward on my journey through Japan.

I work in an IT company where we have a Japanese client, and communication has always been an issue. The turning point came when I enrolled on the Japanese for Work course at Kazumi. We studied keigo speech, email mannerisms, meeting communication, and culturally suitable expressions. My teacher criticised my actual emails and adjusted them to be more professional. After the course, I have seen an immediate improvement in feedback from clients; they started appreciating the effort and clarity. Not only did this course enhance my language skills, but it also grew my confidence as a working professional in global workspaces.

Running a cross-cultural team makes me curious about Japanese management techniques. This is a class in Kazumi School that changed my insight about teamwork and leadership. My instructor told me about kaizen, about nemawashi, and about Japanese decision-making words I’d never heard before. We analysed actual company case studies and even rehearsed workplace situations. I handle team conflicts in a more tender way and encourage them to steer their own improvement, an incremental one, as Japanese companies do. This course transformed me as a manager and brought peace among my teams.

I enrolled my son in the Japanese Language Course at Kazumi School, and it proved to be one of the best decisions I made. He had struggled to focus, but the trainers here made learning a fun experience. Classes were loaded with songs, stories, flashcards and fun cultural games. Now, my son confidently introduces himself in Japanese and has also taught us new words at home. The trainers were so good with kids — patient, creative, and warm. Personally, I think it has helped his memory; he gets curious about so many things, and he can communicate well. I have Kazumi to thank for Japanese, not just as a language, but as an exhilarating discovery.

As someone who could not speak a single word of Japanese, I was extremely nervous starting my lessons; however, Kazumi School has been great right from the beginning. The Japanese for Beginners course was beautifully crafted—from the very basics like Hiragana and Katakana to grammar and basic conversation. My trainer made each lesson very engaging with role-plays, culture videos and worksheets that I could use to revise without getting bored. Today, I can understand the basics and talk about basic things in Japanese. Kazumi really encouraged me to take my first step with confidence.

Kazumi Japanese & Culture School Reviews by Karan Sighla, 4.7/5With a sudden business trip planned to Tokyo, I had only one month to learn essential Japanese. Kazumi’s Crash Course for Japanese came to my rescue. They customised the course for my needs—basic greetings, numbers, business etiquette, transportation vocabulary, restaurant phrases, and emergency expressions. My trainer conducted rapid-fire drills and daily speaking practice that helped me pick up useful Japanese faster than I ever imagined. When I finally visited Japan, I felt surprisingly confident navigating the city and interacting with clients. This course was an absolute lifesaver, and I’m planning to continue to higher levels soon.
